let's talk

Hi. I’m Sam 👋🏼

Here are some things you should know about me…

I have a degree in ART HISTORY.

It’s just as useless as they said! But I still draw and take photographs. If you follow my work, you’ll get to see my art!

I used to be:

A bartender. A barista. A personal trainer. The stoner who worked in the Antique Photo Booth at your local amusement park.

Oh—and a high falutin’ copywriter who made lots-o money for other people before the bubble burst all over my jeans.

Creative writing 🤝🏽 Marketing strategy

^^ That’s me. I’m the handshake. For over a decade I’ve straddled the no-man’s-land between the literary world (books, publishing, academia) and the marketing world (selling stuff).

Side A: The Tuesday Tastemaker

Cultural + marketing observations from a wizened GenXer who's been writing, editing, and marketing in the so-called trenches for over a decade.

Side B: The Sunday Coffee Break.

Every other Sunday morning I share a piece of writing worth reading (mine, or someone else's). The following week, I take that piece of writing apart so you can see the craft + technique that went into it.
