🎧 THE REMIX 🎧
Bring your emails, sales pages, blog posts, and website copy into my mixing studio.
I’ll make ‘em sing.
You!
You intelligent, creative, innovative, sensitive, empathetic, justice-minded, full-of-beautiful-ideas service provider!
You’ve built a business that serves others and works for YOU (not the other way around).
Your work is really good. Like, stellar.
And you’re not playing by the rules of the big-name internet marketers anymore, because those rules weren’t designed for you, or for the betterment of your clients.
You, and the work you do, and the people you serve, are creating a new online economy – one defined by community care, creative collaboration, mutual aid, and regenerative (not extractive) growth strategies.
Cool cool. But how do we write about our work in eloquent and compelling language that actually generates sales? And how do we sell our services in ways that feel good for everyone involved?
The old paradigm has been dissected, called out, and think-pieced to death. We’re on YOU now, and how you can craft a thriving business with thriving clients, and a body of work you’re fucking proud of.
You’re the kind of entrepreneur who pours every bit of yourself into every bit of your work, including (and especially) when you have to write about it.
That’s what makes it unique and good. (Even if you don’t think it’s good.)
Still, there’s a difference between great writing, and great copywriting.
In a novel, or a long-form essay, there’s room to wander. You can take your reader on a journey, make them feel for the sake of feeling.
But copywriting has to be TIGHT. There’s no room for meandering, or all those delightful tangents.
This is writing that has a jobby-job, and that job is to leave readers feeling stoked and relieved and buzzy and can’t-wait-to-sign-up.
With *every single* turn of phrase, you have to be super dialed in to your reader’s state of mind — what they’re thinking, how they feel, what they want. And that means killing a LOT of darlings — but it also means finding the right gems to buff up and add back in.
I’ve written and edited a lot of successful copy over the past decade, and in all that time, I’ve found three things to be true:...
The people who think they’re “bad” at copywriting are almost always secretly the best. Because they don’t sound like everyone else.
The editorial process is tedious and stressful for most people (but not me, I love it!)
I’ve never seen a piece of writing that didn’t have flecks of gold running through it, and I’ve never NOT been able to tease out those nuggets and make ‘em shine til they blind your eyes. 🤩
Outsourcing your writing to a Boutique, done-for-you copywriter is so 2018.
It’s too hard to find the right writer, and it doesn’t make financial sense..
But you still deserve access to the talent, expertise, and experience that will help you connect with your audience, deliver your services, and create the impact we all know you’re capable of.
And you should be able to tap into the selling power of beautifully crafted copy, without having to sell out on your values.

THE REMIX.
Collaborative copywriting that gets the results you want without making you sound like a douchey robot. (It’s also budget- and time-friendly!)
PAY IN FULL ($1750) or in 3 installments ($584)
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
A brand-new, final draft of your writing that will make your clients feel seen, safe, and excited AF to work with you. Written in your most voice-y voice, showcasing your brilliant work with copy that does it justice – and does its job. 💰💰💰
An Editorial Letter that lays out what I did and why, along with some input on what's working in your writing, how to improve it in the future, and all the copywriting shenanigans you get to stop doing. 😉
Recorded Creative Concepting Call that drills down to the unique positioning that makes your work so special, and why you do it in the first place. This is the undercurrent that should power all of your writing.
Two additional weeks of email support in case something weird happens (like an unforeseen formatting issue once you get it live that requires some writerly problem-solving, or your fresh-as-hell new copy got you inspired and you want to run a crazy idea by me, etc.)
HOW IT WORKS:
We’ll kick things off with a Creative Concepting Call where we’ll talk all about your work, your clients, your values, your voice – and the deeper meaning that runs underneath it all.
I’ll also ask about your current relationship with your own writing, and any areas you want me to pay special attention to. I’ll train my (metaphorical) binoculars on the gap between how you WANT it to sound, and what ended up on the page.
You’ll receive a recording of our call, plus my notes and ideas around how to structure your writing. There will be no “blank page” for you, my friend – I’ll take care of that part for you.
You’ll have up to 30 days* to send me your (weird, rambly, wordy-AF) draft. I’ll be here for questions and support in the meantime in case you get stuck.
*Already have a draft ready for me? Great! After our Creative Concepting Call, I’ll get straight to work 🙂Within 7 business days, you’ll receive a remixed, fresh copy of your work that’s ready for implementation (I’ll always leave your originals intact), along with your Editorial Letter.
We’ll have a final call to review the new copy and answer any lingering little questions. I’ll also be available for email support for two additional weeks.
What we can work on (i.e. project scope)
Full website copy (up to 5 pages)
Sales funnel (sales page + up to 5 emails)
Up to 15 emails
Repurposing previous launch copy for your next launch
Mix and match from the above. 🤷🏻♀️ Or run something by me and we’ll see!
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET STARTED
The main thing you need is for your content to live in a Google Doc.
I can’t edit your SquareSpace site. ;) Usually, you can copy and paste everything you need directly into a Doc; you might need to fiddle with the formatting once you do this. I’m not overly concerned with formatting, though.
Here are some additional Google Doc pointers:
If we’re looking at an email sequence, the whole series can go on a single doc. (bonus points if you put a page break before each new email in the series 🙂)
For website copy, each page of your website should be its own Google Doc.
For sales funnels: the sales page copy on one doc; emails on another.
For launches… use whatever common-sense organizational convention you like. Let’s not make this more nerdy than it needs to be.
If this is for a live launch…
If we’re looking at previous launch content, it will be helpful to have some performance metrics so we know what worked, what didn’t, and what we still don’t know.
If you haven’t written anything yet… 😱
Then don’t sweat it until we have our Creative Concepting Call. I’ll handle the blank page heebeejeebees for you.
hi. I’m Sam.
I’ve been a bartender, a barista, a personal trainer, a park maintenance worker, and the stoner running the antique photo booth at Six Flags.✌🏽
Now I’m an editor, copywriter, and writing instructor with over a decade of experience in online marketing.
I’ve been referred to as the "email queen," probably because I’ve done things like triple someone’s open rates, generate $75k from a single campaign, and develop distinctive brand voices and thought leadership messaging that get my clients known for their emails.
In 2024 I left that all behind—burned down my whole business, lowered my rates, revamped the way I work with clients, and created Indie Copy Studio.
As an editor, I help emerging authors develop their manuscripts from "almost there" to actually, really, finally DONE, whether you're sending it out to potential agents or moving forward with self-publishing.
I created The Remix because I believe you deserve access to the talent, expertise, and experience that will help you connect with your audience, deliver your services, and create the impact we all know you’re capable of.
And you should be able to tap into the selling power of beautifully crafted copy, without having to sell out on your values.

If you’re reading this and thinking how great it would be to have access the Remix all the time forever, I have great news –
You can, and it’s so smooth. We only need to do Creative Concepting and your Editorial Letter one time (so, your first Remix); after that, we can continue remixing together as often as you’d like, or on a retainer basis.
We’ll figure out scope, pricing, and workflow on a case-by-case basis. I also have an hourly editing rate for things like regular blog posts and as-needed work.

Nope. This is going to be finished, polished, remixed copy that does your work justice (and does its job). It will be ready for implementation. I’ll leave your original work as-is, and deliver brand-new, clean docs, formatted as closely to your brand style as I can get them.

Pish posh! I promise you, it’s better than you think. I’ve been working as an editor and copywriter for the better part of a decade, and I’ve never once seen a piece of writing that didn’t have flecks of gold running through it, and I’ve never NOT been able to tease out that gold and make it shine til it blinds your eyes.
I also understand how hard it is to write about yourself, and that empathy is what informs my work above all else. I promise, it’s gonna be okay.
(Also, just throwing this out there – you should be freakin’ psyched to put your work out into the world. So if you’re not… probably you should call me? 🤙)
-
Dude, I don’t know! Do you? 🤷🏻♀️😆
I get what you’re saying though – you’ve done what most smart, driven, creative business owners do when they have to develop a skill that isn’t their core work: you learned how to DIY.
BUT if your DIY efforts (i.e. all those templates and formulas and copywriting best practices) feel forced, strange, or inauthentic to you – and/or your copy isn’t performing as well as you’d like it to, then yeah, you do need this.
If your copy is selling, and it’s selling to the people you want to be working with, and you’re happy with it, then no, you don’t need me, UNLESS you’d like to cut down the time it takes you to go from ideation to implementation. If you just want to do the shitty first draft part and be done with it, then this would be a great option for you.
